Extract ZIP files without software
Desktop systems can open ZIP files natively, but not every device makes it easy — Chromebooks, locked-down work computers, tablets and phones often need an app. This tool reads the archive directly in your browser, lists every entry and lets you save individual files.
Private by design
The archive is read with JavaScript on your device. It is never uploaded, so you can safely open archives with contracts, invoices, source code or customer data. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
Files that are secretly ZIPs
Many modern file formats are ZIP archives with a different extension. Opening them here shows their internal structure:

This is a quick way to pull all images out of a Word document or PowerPoint deck: open the file and download the items in the media folder.
What is not supported
- Password-protected ZIPs — encryption is not supported; you will see a clear message.
- RAR, 7z and tar.gz — these are different formats. A
.gzfile can be decompressed with the gzip tool. - Very large archives — the whole archive is held in memory, so multi-gigabyte files may not open on phones.
