- Type into the cells — the first row is the header. Use + Row and + Column to grow the table.
- Paste a range copied from Excel or Google Sheets into any cell; it fills the cells from there.
- Set each column’s alignment with the ⟵ ⟷ ⟶ buttons above it.
- Copy the Markdown (for GitHub, GitLab, Notion, Obsidian, README files) or the HTML.

Pipes (|) separate columns and the second line separates the header. Colons set alignment: :--- left, :---: center, ---: right. Tables are part of GitHub-flavored Markdown and work on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Notion, Obsidian, Reddit and most docs tools.
- A literal pipe inside a cell is written
\|— the generator escapes it for you. - Markdown tables can’t merge cells or hold multiple paragraphs; use HTML for those.
- “Align columns” pads cells with spaces so the source is readable; renderers ignore the padding.
