Generate sliders without memorizing options
Every carousel library has dozens of options with different names: Swiper’s slidesPerView is Splide’s perPage, Glide’s perView and Slick’s slidesToShow. This generator gives you one set of controls and writes the correct configuration for the library you choose — including responsive breakpoints, which each library defines differently (Swiper uses mobile-first min-width, Splide and Glide desktop-first max-width, Slick a responsive array).

Swiper is the most popular and most capable choice — use it unless you need something tiny. Splide is lighter and has the best accessibility out of the box. Glide.js is the smallest for simple carousels. Slick is still common on older sites and WordPress themes, but it depends on jQuery and is no longer maintained, so choose it only to match an existing project.
Performance and accessibility tips
- Lazy-load images below the first slide (
loading="lazy"is added for you) and size them for the slide width — the image resizer and compressor help. - Avoid autoplay for important content; if you use it, keep pause on hover on and a delay of at least 4 seconds.
- Keep arrows and pagination enabled so keyboard and screen-reader users can navigate.
- Carousels in the first screen can hurt Largest Contentful Paint — make sure the first image is not lazy-loaded if it is your LCP element.
