Comment utiliser : Binary to Text Converter
- Paste the binary code in the right-hand box — the text appears on the left as you type.
- Spaces, commas, new lines or no separators at all are fine.
- To translate text into binary, type in the left-hand box instead.
How to read binary as text
Binary text is split into bytes of eight bits. Each byte is a number from 0 to 255: 01001000 is 72, which is the letter “H” in ASCII. Letters, digits and punctuation take one byte each; accented letters and emoji take two to four bytes in UTF-8, and the converter combines them back into the right character.
Translating a binary message by hand
Write the place values 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 above the eight bits and add up the ones that are 1. For 01100001: 64 + 32 + 1 = 97, which is “a”. Capital letters start at 65 (A), lowercase at 97 (a) and digits at 48 (0).
Errors and puzzles
If a group has a digit other than 0 or 1, or isn’t a valid UTF-8 sequence, the converter tells you instead of showing garbage. Puzzles and CTFs sometimes use 7-bit ASCII or a different encoding — try the hex or decimal formats when 8-bit binary doesn’t make sense.
