SVG Pattern Generator — Seamless Background Patterns for CSS

Give sections and cards a subtle texture with seamless SVG patterns: dots, grids, diagonal lines, zigzags, waves, plus signs, checkerboards, circles, triangles and more. Adjust the tile size, stroke, colors and opacity, then copy a tiny CSS background with the SVG inlined — no image file — or download the tile.

Cómo usar: SVG Pattern Generator

  1. Pick a pattern — dots, grid, lines, zigzag, waves, plus, checkerboard, circles, triangles, cross-hatch, diamonds or stripes.
  2. Set the tile size, line thickness and opacity; low opacity makes subtle textures.
  3. Choose the pattern and background colors, or a transparent background to lay it over your own color or gradient.
  4. Copy the CSS (the SVG is inlined as a data URI) or download the tile as an SVG file.

Why SVG patterns?

A pattern tile is a tiny SVG — usually under 300 bytes — that the browser repeats with background-repeat. It stays sharp at any zoom level and on retina screens, needs no extra request when inlined as a data URI, and recolors instantly by changing two values.

.hero {
  background-color: #0f172a;
  background-image: url("data:image/svg+xml,…");
  background-size: 24px 24px;
}

Patterns are built so their edges line up perfectly when tiled. To layer a pattern over a gradient, tick Transparent background and list both images: background-image: url(…pattern…), linear-gradient(…). For hero dividers, see the SVG Wave Generator and Section Divider Generator.

Preguntas frecuentes

How do I add a dot pattern background in CSS?
Choose Dots, set the size and colors, and copy the CSS: it sets background-image to an inline SVG tile and background-size to the tile size, so the dots repeat seamlessly.
Can I use the pattern on top of a gradient?
Yes — tick Transparent background, then add your gradient after the pattern: background-image: url(...), linear-gradient(...).
Do SVG patterns slow a page down?
No. Each tile is a few hundred bytes inlined in the CSS, so there is no extra download, and SVG renders efficiently.
Can I use the pattern in Webflow?
Yes — paste the CSS into an Embed with a style tag targeting your class, or download the SVG tile and set it as a background image with tiling.
