Comment utiliser : Time Zone Dropdown

  1. The page starts with Time zones; labels show the current UTC offset and the city.
  2. Group by region (America, Europe, Asia…) and sort by offset or by name.
  3. Keep the IANA name as the value — offsets change with daylight saving time, zone names don’t.
  4. Copy the HTML, React, Vue or JSON.

Store zone names, not offsets

An offset like UTC−05:00 changes twice a year with daylight saving time, so save the IANA name (America/New_York) and calculate the offset when you need it — Intl.DateTimeFormat, PostgreSQL, Java and Python all accept these names. The offsets in the labels are calculated today, from your browser’s time zone data.

Questions fréquentes

Why does the offset in the label change?
Labels show each zone’s offset right now. During daylight saving time, zones like Europe/Berlin move from UTC+01:00 to UTC+02:00 — another reason to store the zone name as the value.
Can I get the list in another language?
Yes. Country, language, currency, month and weekday names come from your browser’s built-in translations — pick the label language and the whole list is translated and sorted for it.
Which formats can I export?
An HTML Esc
