How to use the Time Zone Dropdown
- The page starts with Time zones; labels show the current UTC offset and the city.
- Group by region (America, Europe, Asia…) and sort by offset or by name.
- Keep the IANA name as the value — offsets change with daylight saving time, zone names don’t.
- Copy the HTML, React, Vue or JSON.
Store zone names, not offsets
An offset like UTC−05:00 changes twice a year with daylight saving time, so save the IANA name (America/New_York) and calculate the offset when you need it — Intl.DateTimeFormat, PostgreSQL, Java and Python all accept these names. The offsets in the labels are calculated today, from your browser’s time zone data.
