    Webflow tip: dynamic schema on CMS template pages

    Generate the markup once, then replace the example values with CMS fields so every collection item gets its own structured data:

    1. Open the Collection template page and add an Embed element (or use Page settings › Custom code › Before </body> tag).
    2. Paste the JSON-LD, select an example value such as the headline, and click + Add field to insert the matching CMS field.
    3. Use plain-text fields only (not Rich Text) and keep each field inside the existing double quotes. A double quote typed into a CMS field breaks the JSON — avoid them in those fields or test a few items.
    4. Choose an ISO-style date format (e.g. 2026-10-25) when inserting date fields, and use the image field’s URL for image.
    "headline": "{Name}",
    "datePublished": "{Published On}",
    "image": "{Main Image}"

    Your data never leaves your computer. All processing happens 100% locally in your browser.

    How to use the Schema Markup Generator

    1. Choose a schema type — for example LocalBusiness for a shop or clinic, FAQPage for a Q&A section, or Product for an item with price and reviews.
    2. Fill in the form. Fields marked * are required by Google for that rich result; “recommended” fields improve eligibility.
    3. Watch the rich-result check — it lists missing required fields, malformed URLs and dates as you type.
    4. Copy the JSON-LD and paste it into your page’s <head> or body (in Webflow: an Embed element or the page’s custom code), then run it through the Schema Markup Validator.

    What is schema markup?

    Schema markup is structured data that describes the things on a page — a business, an article, a product, an event — using the shared schema.org vocabulary. Search engines read it to understand entities unambiguously and to decide whether a page is eligible for rich results such as star ratings, product prices, event dates, job listings or breadcrumb trails. Google recommends the JSON-LD format: a single <script type="application/ld+json"> block that doesn’t touch your visible HTML, which makes it easy to add in any CMS.

    Which type should I use?

    Be realistic about rich results

    Valid markup makes a page eligible, never guaranteed. Google has also narrowed some features: FAQ rich results are now shown only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites (since August 2023); HowTo rich results were retired in 2023; and the sitelinks search box powered by WebSite SearchAction was removed in November 2024. The markup is still valid schema.org and can help other search engines and AI systems understand your content, which is why the generator still supports these types — it just labels them honestly.

    Rules that keep markup valid

    • Mark up what is visible. Ratings, prices and FAQ answers must also appear on the page. Self-serving reviews of your own business are not eligible for review stars.
    • Use absolute URLs and ISO 8601. URLs need https://; dates look like 2026-10-25 or 2026-10-25T19:30:00+01:00; durations look like PT1H30M.
    • One entity, one block. Several JSON-LD blocks per page are fine (for example Organization plus BreadcrumbList); don’t mix the same entity across formats.
    • Validate after publishing. Check the live page in Google’s Rich Results Test or our Schema Markup Validator, and monitor the Enhancements reports in Search Console.

    Frequently asked questions

    Where do I put JSON-LD on my page?
    Anywhere in the HTML — the <head> or the <body> both work for Google. In Webflow, use an Embed element or Page settings › Custom code; on CMS templates you can insert CMS fields into the code.
    Does schema markup improve rankings?
    Structured data is not a direct ranking factor. It helps search engines understand your page and can make it eligible for rich results, which often improve click-through rates.
    Why don’t my FAQ rich results show anymore?
    Since August 2023 Google only shows FAQ rich results for well-known authoritative government and health sites. FAQPage markup remains valid but usually won’t create a visual enhancement.
    Can I use more than one schema type on a page?
    Yes. Add a separate JSON-LD block per entity — for example Organization, BreadcrumbList and Article on a blog post — or combine them in one @graph array.
    Which LocalBusiness subtype should I pick?
    Choose the most specific schema.org type that fits, such as Dentist, Restaurant or Plumber. Specific types inherit every LocalBusiness property and describe the business more precisely.
    Is the data I enter sent anywhere?
    No. The JSON-LD is generated in your browser. Form values are only remembered in your own browser’s local storage so you don’t lose work on reload.
