This tool fetches the public URL you enter from our server. Results are held in temporary memory for a few minutes and never stored in a database.

How to use the SEO Checker & Site Audit

  1. Enter the full URL of the page you want to audit, e.g. https://example.com/pricing. Optionally add the target keyword the page should rank for.
  2. Click Run audit (or press Ctrl + Enter). We fetch the page like a search engine crawler and analyse the HTML, headers, robots.txt and sitemap.
  3. Start with the errors, then warnings. Filter the checklist by severity or category — every failed check comes with a concrete fix.
  4. Open a specialised tool (Meta Tag Checker, Heading Checker, Image Alt Checker…) for details, or export the issues as CSV/JSON or print the report as a PDF.

What is an SEO checker?

An SEO checker is an automated on-page audit. It downloads a single URL the way a search engine crawler does, parses the HTML and HTTP response, and tests it against a list of technical and content best practices: is there exactly one descriptive title, is the page indexable, does it declare a canonical URL, do images have alt text, is structured data valid, is the response compressed and served over HTTPS? The result is a list of concrete problems you can fix, rather than a vague grade.

This tool runs up to 70 checks in nine categories — Meta, Indexability, Content, Images, Links, Structured data, Social, Technical and Performance. Each check carries a weight; the overall score is the weighted share of checks the page passes, so fixing an error moves the score more than fixing a notice.

How to read the results

SeverityMeaningExamples
ErrorLikely to hurt indexing, ranking or click-through. Fix first.Missing title, noindex on a page you want ranked, no H1, broken images
WarningA real weakness worth fixing soon.Title too long, no canonical, thin content, missing Open Graph tags
NoticeGood practice or context, low direct ranking impact. No Content-Security-Policy, no hreflang x-default, readability

A score of 100 does not guarantee rankings — relevance, content quality and backlinks matter far more — but a clean technical foundation makes sure nothing stops search engines from crawling, understanding and displaying your page well.

What a single-page audit can't tell you

We analyse the HTML your server returns. Content injected later by JavaScript (common with client-rendered React or Vue apps) may be missing from our view; Google renders JavaScript, but with a delay, so server-rendered content is still the safer choice. Site-wide problems such as duplicate titles across many pages or orphan pages need a crawl — use the Website Crawler — and real-user speed data needs the Page Speed Test, which runs Google Lighthouse.

A practical audit workflow

  1. Audit your most important templates first: home page, a category or service page, a blog post and a product page. Most issues are template-level, so one fix repairs hundreds of URLs.
  2. Fix indexability errors (status codes, noindex, canonical pointing elsewhere) before anything else — no other optimisation matters if the page can't be indexed.
  3. Rewrite titles and meta descriptions with the Meta Tag Checker and its pixel-width preview, then tidy the outline with the Heading Checker.
  4. Re-run the audit after deploying. Results are cached for five minutes, so wait briefly or add a query string if you need a fresh fetch immediately.

Tools that pair well with the SEO Checker & Site Audit

  • Broken Link Checker — Enter a page URL and every link on it — plus images, scripts and stylesheets if you like — is tested live, so you can fix 404s and redirect hops before visitors or Google run into them.
  • Redirect Checker — Follow a URL hop by hop to see every redirect, its status code and timing, and check that the http, https, www and non-www versions of your domain all end at one canonical address.
  • HTTP Header Checker — Fetch any URL and see exactly what the server sends back — status code, redirect chain and every response header, with a plain-English explanation of the ones that matter for SEO, caching and security.
  • Robots.txt Tester — Check whether a URL is allowed or blocked for Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot and other crawlers, see exactly which rule matched, and edit the file to test changes before you deploy them.

Frequently asked questions

Is this SEO checker really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on the number of reports beyond a fair-use rate limit of about 20 audits per minute per visitor.
Why does my page score differently in other SEO tools?
Every tool uses its own list of checks and weights, so scores are not comparable between tools. Focus on the individual issues: a missing H1 or a noindex tag is a problem in every tool.
Does the SEO checker execute JavaScript?
No — it analyses the raw HTML the server returns, which is what search engines see on their first pass. If important content only appears after JavaScript runs, consider server-side rendering or static generation.
Can I audit pages behind a login or on localhost?
No. The page must be publicly reachable. Private and local IP addresses are blocked for security reasons; use a public staging URL instead.
What does the target keyword field do?
If you enter a keyword, we also check whether it appears in the title, meta description, H1, subheadings, URL, first 100 words and image alt text. The Keyword Density Checker shows the full phrase analysis.
How do I share the report?
The page URL updates with ?url=, so you can share the link and the audit re-runs for the recipient. You can also export issues as CSV or JSON, or use Print / PDF for a clean printable report.
