Your data never leaves your computer. All processing happens 100% locally in your browser.

How to use the ads.txt Generator

    1. Add a record for each ad network — pick a preset or enter the ad system domain manually.
    2. Enter your publisher account ID exactly as your ad network shows it (for AdSense: pub- followed by 16 digits).
    3. Choose DIRECT if you have the account yourself, RESELLER if a partner sells on your behalf.
    4. Download and upload ads.txt to the root of your domain.

    What is ads.txt?

ads.txt (Authorized Digital Sellers) is an IAB Tech Lab standard that lets website owners publicly declare which companies may sell their ad inventory. Advertisers’ platforms check the file before buying, which cuts off domain spoofing and fraudulent resellers. Google AdSense warns you in its dashboard when your ads.txt is missing or incomplete, and missing records can reduce your ad revenue.

    Record format

    google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0
    1. Ad system domain — the network’s canonical domain (google.com for AdSense and Ad Manager).
    2. Publisher account ID — your ID in that system.
    3. Relationship — DIRECT (you control the account) or RESELLER (an intermediary sells your inventory).
    4. Certification authority ID (optional) — the network’s TAG ID; Google’s is f08c47fec0942fa0.

    Variables

contact= gives a contact for the file; OWNERDOMAIN= and MANAGERDOMAIN= (ads.txt 1.1) identify the business that owns the site and any manager that handles its inventory.

    Uploading and checking

The file must be at the root of the domain — https://example.com/ads.txt — and return HTTP 200 as plain text. Crawlers may take a few days to pick up changes. Mobile and CTV apps use the same format in an app-ads.txt file on the developer’s website.

    Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my AdSense publisher ID?
In AdSense under Account → Settings → Account information. It looks like pub-1234567890123456.
    Is ads.txt required?
It’s not legally required, but Google and most ad exchanges strongly recommend it, and unauthorised inventory may receive fewer bids.
How long until AdSense detects my ads.txt?
Usually within a few days, sometimes longer for low-traffic sites. Make sure the file returns HTTP 200 at the domain root.
What is the difference between DIRECT and RESELLER?
DIRECT means you own and control the ad account. RESELLER means another company is authorised to sell your inventory through their account.
