How to use the Text Symbols & Special Characters
- Search by name (“check”, “arrow”, “degree”) or pick a group such as Arrows, Math or Box drawing.
- Click a symbol to copy it and add it to the collection bar; keep clicking to build a string.
- Use the detail panel for the HTML entity, decimal and hex codes, CSS escape and JavaScript escape.
- Need an invisible character? The Spaces & invisible group has no-break, thin, zero-width and other special spaces.

Special and invisible spaces
Unicode has more than a dozen spaces. A no-break space keeps “10 km” or “Mr. Smith” on one line; a thin space separates thousands (10 000); a zero-width space allows a line break inside long URLs or words without showing anything. In Webflow you can type them directly into text fields. Watch out: invisible characters copied from Word, PDFs or AI tools can break code, URLs and CMS slugs — find and remove them with the Unicode Character Inspector.
Symbols vs icons
Text symbols scale with the font, cost no extra requests and are perfect for lists, prices and short UI hints. Their look depends on the font, and some (☀ ✈ ❤) may turn into colour emoji on phones — append the variation selector U+FE0E to force the text style. For brand-consistent UI icons use SVG instead; the SVG to Webflow tool pastes them straight into the Designer.
Superscripts and fractions
Characters like ² ³ ½ ¼ are real characters, so they survive copy-paste into social posts and CMS fields where isn’t available. For whole styled words on social media use the Bold Text Generator.
