Click a page thumbnail to add or remove it. Ranges: 2-5, 8- (to the end), 5-1 (reverse).

Your data never leaves your computer. All processing happens 100% locally in your browser.

How to use the Split PDF

  1. Drop a PDF on the box or click to choose it; page thumbnails appear.
  2. Choose Extract pages and click thumbnails or type ranges — or choose to split every page or every N pages.
  3. Click Split & download. Multiple files are delivered as a ZIP.

Three ways to split

ModeResultExample
Extract pagesOne new PDF with the pages you pick, in the order you type them1-2, 10 → a 3-page PDF
Every pageOne PDF per page, in a ZIPA 12-page scan → 12 files
Every N pagesEqual chunks, in a ZIPN = 2 → pages 1–2, 3–4, …

Page range syntax

  • 5 — a single page
  • 2-7 — pages 2 to 7
  • 10- — page 10 to the end; -3 — the first three pages
  • 9-6 — pages 9 to 6 in reverse order
  • Combine with commas: 1, 3-4, 10-

Pages keep their text, images and quality; nothing is rasterised. To delete pages while keeping the rest, Organize PDF is quicker; to combine files, use Merge PDF.

Private by design

Most online PDF services upload your document to their servers. This tool processes the file entirely in your browser with open-source libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js), so contracts, invoices, bank statements and IDs never leave your device. It works offline once the page has loaded, and there are no file-count limits, watermarks or sign-ups.

Tools that pair well with the Split PDF

  • PDF to JPG — Turn every page of a PDF into a high-quality JPG or PNG image — for slides, social posts, thumbnails or apps that do not accept PDF.
  • Rotate PDF — Fix sideways or upside-down scans: rotate individual pages or all of them, check the thumbnails and save the corrected PDF.
  • Add Page Numbers to PDF — Number the pages of any PDF in seconds — bottom or top, left, centre or right, with formats like Page 3 of 12 and an optional unnumbered cover page.
  • JPG to PDF — Turn photos, scans and screenshots into a single PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser; the files never leave your device.
How do I save just one page of a PDF?
Choose Extract pages, type the page number (for example 4) or click its thumbnail, and download.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied unchanged into the new files.
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
No. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first — open the file in your PDF reader with the password and save or “print to PDF” an unprotected copy.
