Comment utiliser : Find and Replace in Files

    1. Drop the files (or click to choose them). Binary files such as images are skipped.
    2. Add one or more rules; turn on Regex for patterns and $1 capture groups.
    3. Check the match count per file and preview any file.
    4. Download the changed files as a ZIP — unchanged files are left out.

    When you need it

    • Rename a function, class or CSS variable across a folder of code.
    • Update a domain, email address or copyright year in many HTML or Markdown files.
    • Fix a delimiter or column name in a batch of CSV exports.

    Private and reversible

Files are read and changed in your browser — nothing is uploaded — and your originals are never modified: you download edited copies. Folder structure is kept in the ZIP when the browser provides it (drag a folder in Chrome or Edge). For a single text, use Find and Replace.

    Questions fréquentes

    Are my original files changed?
No. The tool downloads edited copies; your files on disk stay as they were.
    Can I use regular expressions?
Yes — turn on Regex and use $1, $2 … in the replacement for captured groups.
    Which files are supported?
Any text file in UTF-8 — code, markup, CSV, JSON, Markdown, logs. Images, PDFs and other binary files are skipped automatically.
    Is there a size limit?
Up to 500 files and about 50 MB in total, limited by your browser’s memory rather than a server.
Puis-je installer Find and Replace in Files en tant qu’application web et l’utiliser hors ligne ?
Oui. Comment fonctionne l’installation.
