Typical uses
- Monthly team meetings
- Monthly reports on a weekday
Good to know
Standard cron can’t say “first Monday” on its own. Run at 9:00 on days 1–7 and let the command continue only on a Monday: 0 9 1-7 * * [ "$(date +\%u)" = 1 ] && /job.sh. Don’t write 0 9 1-7 * 1: when both day fields are set, classic cron runs when either matches, so it would also run every Monday.
