Bulk UTM Builder — Tag Hundreds of Campaign Links from a Spreadsheet

Build UTM links in bulk, each row with its own source, medium, campaign, content and term. Paste from Google Sheets or Excel or import a CSV, set defaults for empty cells, normalize to lowercase, and see which GA4 channel every link lands in — then copy the tagged URLs or export a CSV.

Your data never leaves your computer. All processing happens 100% locally in your browser.

How to use the Bulk UTM Builder

  1. Click Paste from a spreadsheet and paste your rows — or Import CSV. A header row (url, source, medium, campaign…) is recognized in any order.
  2. Fill in or edit cells; use Defaults for values every row shares, like the campaign name.
  3. Check each row: the tagged URL, the GA4 channel it will count under, and warnings for missing values.
  4. Copy all URLs or Export CSV with the original columns plus the tagged URL and channel.

Consistent UTM tags at scale

GA4 treats Email, email and e-mail as different values, and a medium it doesn’t recognize sends visits to Unassigned. Tagging a whole campaign in one table keeps names consistent: values are lowercased, spaces become underscores or hyphens, and each row shows the default channel GA4 will assign — Paid Search for google / cpc, Paid Social for linkedin / paid_social, Email for email.

  • Existing query strings and #fragments are kept; existing utm_ values are replaced unless you turn that off.
  • Links without https:// get it added.
  • Your table is saved in this browser, so you can come back to it.

Tagging one link? The UTM Builder has presets for each ad platform. Make links shorter for print with the QR Code Generator, and decode existing ones with the URL Parser.

Tools that pair well with the Bulk UTM Builder

  • GA4 Event Code Generator — Pick a recommended GA4 event — generate_lead, sign_up, purchase, add_to_cart and more — or name your own, fill in the parameters and items, and copy the code as gtag(), a Tag Manager dataLayer.push() or a server-side Measurement Protocol request.
  • Ad Pixel Event Code Generator — Pick a platform — Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or Pinterest Tag — choose a standard event like Lead, Purchase or CompletePayment, fill in the value, currency and items, and copy code that fires right away or on a click or form submit.
  • Google Tag Snippet Generator — Enter your GA4 measurement ID, Google Ads ID or Tag Manager container ID and get install code that is ready to paste — with Consent Mode v2 defaults, cross-domain linking, debug mode, manual page views and cookie settings switched on only when you need them.
  • GTM Snippet Generator — Enter your GTM container ID and get the Google Tag Manager install code for the <head> and <body>, with Consent Mode v2 defaults placed before the container so every tag inside it waits for consent.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create UTM links in bulk?
Paste your URLs and UTM values from a spreadsheet (or import a CSV), set defaults for anything shared, and export the tagged links as CSV or copy them all at once.
Which columns does the CSV import need?
A url column plus any of source, medium, campaign, content and term — with or without a utm_ prefix, in any order. Without a header row, columns are read in that order.
Why does my medium land in “Unassigned”?
GA4 assigns channels from the source and medium. Use standard mediums like cpc, paid_social, email, social, referral, display or affiliate so visits land in the right channel.
Should UTM values be lowercase?
Yes. UTM values are case-sensitive in GA4, so Facebook and facebook would show as two sources. Lowercasing everything avoids split reports.
Can I install Bulk UTM Builder as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. Bulk UTM Builder is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
