About Pink
Pink (pink) is a very light, vivid red with the hex code #ffc0cb, or rgb(255, 192, 203). In HSL it sits at a hue of 350°, 100% saturation and 88% lightness. It is one of the 148 named colors every browser understands, so you can write color: pink; instead of the hex value.
Using Pink for text and backgrounds
| Pairing | Contrast ratio | WCAG |
|---|---|---|
| Pink text on white | 1.54 : 1 | fails |
| Pink text on black | 13.65 : 1 | AAA |
On a pink background, use black text (13.65 : 1). WCAG asks for at least 4.5 : 1 for body text and 3 : 1 for large text. Check other pairs with the Contrast Checker.
