The ROAS formula
ROAS = revenue from ads ÷ ad spend. Spending 1,000 to earn 4,000 gives a ROAS of 4x, or 400%.
What is a good ROAS?
It depends on your margin. Break-even ROAS = 1 ÷ profit margin, so a 40% margin breaks even at 2.5x and a 20% margin needs 5x. A ROAS that looks high can still lose money if your margin is thin.
