How to use the CTR Calculator

  1. Enter your clicks and impressions.
  2. Add a goal CTR if you have one.
  3. Read your CTR and how far you are from the goal.

The CTR formula

CTR = clicks ÷ impressions × 100. 120 clicks from 8,000 impressions is a CTR of 1.5%.

Why CTR is low in Search Console

CTR depends heavily on position, and results far down the page get few clicks, so impressions with no clicks are normal for new pages. Improve your ranking and your title. Preview titles with the SERP Preview.

Frequently asked questions

Is anything I enter saved or sent?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Your last inputs are remembered on this device only, so the page opens where you left off.
What is a good CTR?
It varies by channel, position and industry, so compare similar campaigns or pages rather than one universal number.
Why do I have impressions but no clicks?
Usually a low ranking, or too few impressions to judge. An impression counts even if the result was far down the page.
Can CTR go above 100%?
Not with unique clicks. If a report shows it, the clicks and impressions were counted differently.
Can I install CTR Calculator as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. CTR Calculator is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
