How to Share a Tool With Your Settings

How to share your settings

  1. Open a tool and change its inputs.
  2. Click Copy link with my inputs, which appears above the tool.
  3. Send the link to anyone. It opens the tool with the same inputs.

What stays private

Your inputs are stored in the link itself, after the #. That part of an address isn’t sent to our server. Anyone who has the link can read what’s in it, though, so only include what you’re happy to share.

Tools for passwords, keys and tokens never offer this, so sensitive values aren’t placed in a link by accident.

Limits

  • Very long inputs are too big for a link, so the button stays hidden.
  • Uploaded files aren’t included.
  • Some tool controls, such as tabs and toggle buttons, may not be included.

Frequently asked questions

Does the other person need an account?
No. They just open the link.
Are my inputs stored on your server?
