How to use the Video to GIF
- Choose a video — MP4, WebM or MOV.
- Play to the moment you want and click now to set the start, then pick the length.
- Choose the width and frame rate — smaller and fewer frames make lighter GIFs.
- Click Make GIF, check the preview and download.
Keep GIFs small
GIFs store every frame as a full picture with up to 256 colors, so they grow quickly. For chat and docs, 360 px wide at 10–12 frames per second and 2–4 seconds long usually gives a clear GIF under a few megabytes. Each frame gets its own color palette here, which keeps video colors closer to the original.
Record a screen demo first with the Screen Recorder, or save single frames as images with the Video Frame Extractor. To shrink images afterwards, use the Image Compressor.
