Online Screen Recorder — Record Your Screen with Audio

Record your entire screen, one window or a browser tab — with your microphone and the tab’s or system audio. No watermark, no time limit, nothing to install, and the video never leaves your computer.

Screen recording works in desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Phones and tablets don’t allow it.

Your data never leaves your computer. All processing happens 100% locally in your browser.

How to use the Screen Recorder

  1. Choose whether to include your microphone and the tab or system audio.
  2. Click Start recording and pick the screen, window or tab to share.
  3. Do your demo. Click Stop here or “Stop sharing” in the browser bar.
  4. Watch it back and download the video. Turn a short part into a GIF with Video to GIF.

A screen recorder that stays private

Most free screen recorders add a watermark, limit you to a few minutes or upload your video. This one records with your browser’s own screen capture API, writes the video in memory and lets you download it straight away — there’s no server involved.

Audio options

  • Microphone — narrate a tutorial or bug report.
  • Tab audio — when you share a Chrome or Edge tab, tick “Share tab audio” in the picker to include its sound.
  • System audio — available when sharing the entire screen on Windows in Chrome and Edge.

Videos are saved as WebM (MP4 in Safari). Need a still instead? Take a full-page capture with the Website Screenshot tool, or pull frames out of your video with the Video Frame Extractor.

Tools that pair well with the Screen Recorder

  • Webcam Recorder — Record video with sound from your webcam, take photos, choose your camera and resolution, and download the clips.
  • Voice Recorder — Record your voice or any sound from your microphone right in the browser.
  • Audio Trimmer — Cut the part of a song, voice memo or podcast you need.
  • Audio Speed Changer — Make audio faster or slower — 0.5× to 2× — and choose whether the pitch changes with it (chipmunk / slowed effect) or stays the same (for lectures and practice).

Frequently asked questions

Is there a time limit or watermark?
No. Record as long as your computer’s memory allows, with no watermark. Very long recordings use a lot of RAM, so split long sessions.
Why is there no sound from my screen?
Browsers only share audio from a tab (tick “Share tab audio”) or, on Windows, the entire screen. Windows and macOS app windows are shared without sound.
Can I record on my phone?
No. Mobile browsers don’t support screen capture. Use your phone’s built-in screen recorder instead.
Can I install Screen Recorder as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. Screen Recorder is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
