How to use the Link Preview Fixer
- Enter the address of the page you want to share and click Check link.
- Read what’s wrong, and see whether each platform’s crawler can reach the page.
- Edit the title, description and image. The previews update as you type.
- Copy the fixed tags into your page’s head, then publish.
- Refresh the platform’s cache, because apps keep old previews for a while.
Why is my link preview wrong?
Social apps read Open Graph tags in your page’s HTML when someone shares a link. A wrong preview usually means that a tag is missing, the image can’t be loaded, the app’s crawler is blocked, or the app is still showing an old copy.
The fix for each problem
- No image: add
og:imagewith a fullhttps://address. SVG images don’t work on most platforms. - Cropped image: use 1200×630 pixels. Our OG Image Generator makes one for you.
- Crawler blocked: if a platform shows an error above, check your firewall, bot protection and robots.txt.
- Tags added by JavaScript: most crawlers don’t run JavaScript, so tags must be in the page’s HTML.
Why does it still show the old preview?
Platforms store previews. After fixing your tags, use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to refresh them. WhatsApp and X update on their own schedule, and adding ?v=2 to the link is a handy way to test a fresh copy.

Why is my WhatsApp link preview not showing?
The usual causes are a missing og:image, an image that’s too large or slow, or a blocked crawler. WhatsApp also keeps old previews for a while.
What size should a link preview image be?
1200×630 pixels works well across most platforms. Keep it under 5 MB, and ideally far smaller.
Do I need Twitter tags as well as Open Graph?
X falls back to Open Graph for most fields, but it needs twitter:card to choose the large image layout.
Are the previews exact?
They’re close guides, not screenshots from each app. Apps change their designs and vary between devices.
