How to use the Trackpad Test
- Click, double-click and right-click (two-finger click or tap) inside the box.
- Scroll with two fingers up, down, left and right, then pinch in or out.
- Every gesture that works gets a tick; anything left unticked needs a look in your touchpad settings.
If a gesture doesn’t register
- Windows: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad — turn on tap to click, two-finger scrolling and pinch to zoom, and check for a function key that disables the touchpad.
- macOS: System Settings → Trackpad — enable Tap to click, Secondary click and the Scroll & Zoom gestures.
- Linux: your desktop’s Mouse & Touchpad settings; some touchpads need the libinput driver.
Browsers report a pinch as a zoom-scroll and a two-finger click as a right-click, so this test sees the gestures your system passes to web pages. Three- and four-finger gestures are handled by the operating system and don’t reach web pages.
