How to use the Coin Flip

  2. Click Generate — or press Ctrl + Enter to flip again.
  3. Copy the result to share it.

Is an online coin flip fair?

Each flip uses crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure random source, so heads and tails are equally likely and every flip is independent. A streak of five heads in a row happens about once every 32 sets of five flips — streaks are normal, not a sign of bias.

Frequently asked questions

Is heads or tails really 50/50?
Yes. Each flip is an independent, equally likely outcome from a cryptographically secure random source.
Can I flip several coins at once?
Yes — set the number of coins and the tool shows each result plus the totals.
Does the previous flip affect the next?
No. Every flip is independent, so a long run of heads doesn’t make tails “due”.
Can I install Coin Flip as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. Coin Flip is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
