  3. Read each die and the total.

Fair rolls

Each die uses the browser’s cryptographically secure random generator, so every face is equally likely — fairer than a worn physical die. Two six-sided dice total 7 most often (1 in 6 rolls), while 2 and 12 come up only 1 in 36 times.

Frequently asked questions

What dice can I roll?
Any number of dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 or 100 sides — the standard tabletop and RPG set.
Are online dice random?
Yes. Rolls come from a cryptographically secure random source, and each roll is independent.
What is the most likely total with two dice?
Seven, which comes up in 6 of the 36 combinations.
Can I install Dice Roller as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. Dice Roller is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
