How to use the Website Device Simulator
- Enter your website’s address and click Preview.
- Choose a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop size, then use Rotate for landscape.
- Use Compare to see phone, tablet and laptop views side by side.
- Add your own sizes under Add a custom device. They’re saved in this browser.
What this simulator shows
It loads your page at a device’s width and height, so your responsive layout and CSS breakpoints behave as they would at that size. That makes it quick for spotting broken layouts, cut-off text and tables that overflow.
What it can’t show
It isn’t a real device. It doesn’t change the browser engine, so an iPhone size here still runs in your own browser. Features that depend on the user agent or touch hardware may differ. Before launch, test on real phones, or use your browser’s device mode for more detail.
Why some sites stay blank
Many sites send X-Frame-Options or a frame-ancestors rule, which stops them from loading inside another page. When the tool finds these, it shows a real screenshot at that device size instead, so you can still check the layout, but links and scrolling won’t work. For full-page captures, use the Mobile Website Screenshot tool.
Are the device sizes exact?
The sizes are common viewport values in CSS pixels, not the physical resolution. Real browsers lose some height to their toolbars, so treat them as a close guide.
