How to use the Image Splitter

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Pick a preset like 3 × 3 grid or 1 × 3 carousel, or set rows and columns.
  3. Keep square tiles on for Instagram; the image is cropped to fit evenly.
  4. Download all tiles as a ZIP, or click a tile to save just that one.

Instagram grids and seamless carousels

A 3 × 3 grid spreads one big picture across nine posts on your profile. Post the tiles in reverse order — the bottom-right tile first — so they line up. A 1 × 3 carousel (or 1 × 2 to 1 × 10) gives a panorama people swipe through. Tiles are numbered in posting order: 01 is top-left.

Making a collage instead of cutting one? Use the Collage Maker. To change the size first, use the Image Resizer.

Images are edited with your browser’s canvas, so photos never leave your device — no upload, no watermark, no sign-up.

Tools that pair well with the Image Splitter

  • Image Cropper — Drag the frame or type exact pixels to crop a photo — square, 16:9, Instagram 4:5, Open Graph 1.91:1 or a perfect circle — then download it as PNG, JPG or WebP.
  • Add Border to Image — Add a colored border, rounded corners or a soft shadow to any picture, or pad it to a square for Instagram without cropping.
  • ZIP File Creator — Drop files or a whole folder, choose a compression level and download a standard .zip archive — built entirely in your browser, so even large or private files stay on your device.
  • Barcode Generator — Make scannable barcodes for products, inventory, shipping and libraries — check digits are calculated for you, and you can download a sharp SVG for print or a PNG for documents.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make an Instagram grid?
Choose the image, pick 3 × 3 grid with square tiles, download the ZIP and post the tiles starting with the last one (bottom right).
How do I make a seamless carousel?
Pick 1 × 3 (or set 1 row and up to 10 columns). Each tile becomes one carousel slide.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser; your images never leave your device.
Can I install Image Splitter as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. Image Splitter is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
