How to use the Grade Calculator
- List each category with its score and weight (e.g. “Quizzes, 85, 15”).
- Enter the final exam weight and the grade you want.
- Read your current grade and the score you need on the final.
How weighted grades work
Each category counts in proportion to its weight: grade = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight). With 60% of the course done at 84%, a 40% final needs (target − 0.6 × 84) ÷ 0.4 to reach the target. If the answer is over 100%, the target is out of reach.
