How to use the WiFi QR Code Generator

  1. Enter the network name (SSID), security type and password.
  2. Optionally pick colors or add a logo.
  3. Download PNG or SVG and print it.

How guests use it

On iPhone (iOS 11 and later) and Android (10 and later), open the camera, point it at the code and tap the “Join network” prompt. Older phones can use any QR scanner app.

Is it safe?

The password is stored inside the code itself, so anyone who can see the code can join. Put it where you would otherwise write the password. The code is made in your browser — the password is never sent anywhere — and it works as long as the network name and password stay the same.

Frequently asked questions

Does the WiFi QR code expire?
No. It contains your network details directly, so it works until you change the network name or password.
Which security type should I choose?
WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost all routers. Choose None only for open networks.
Is my Wi-Fi password sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated in your browser.
My network is hidden — will it work?
Yes. Tick “Hidden network” so phones know to look for it.
Can I install WiFi QR Code Generator as a web app and use it offline?
Yes. WiFi QR Code Generator is an installable web app (PWA) — installed from your browser, not downloaded from an app store. Click Install app at the top of this page in Chrome or Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS) or on Android, use Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, or File → Add to Dock in Safari 17+ on a Mac. It then opens in its own window with its own icon, and because it runs entirely in your browser it keeps working offline. Firefox on desktop can’t install web apps. How installing works.
